Marine Operations Manager


Reporting to the Managing Director


Job description

  • Ensure vessels meet all obligations under the Charter Parties Agreements in a safe & efficient manner.

  • Ensure Repairs & Maintenances for the vessels are carried out in the most cost-effective manner.

  • Monitor the Planned Maintenance System implemented on board vessels and ensure the Superintendents-In-Charge are constantly checking on the progress of the vessels’ planned maintenance.

  • Ensure compliance with Statutory & Class requirements by all vessels and raise corrective action when necessary.

  • Ensure vessels’ Statutory & Class Certificates are kept up to date and arrange surveys accordingly.

  • Ensure to provide necessary support on any Navigational safety arise

  • Monitor vessels’ daily reports.

  • Approval of all Stores, Spares and Consumables.

  • Designate respective Marine, Crewing and Vessel Superintendents and their specific roles and assign the vessels they are in charge of.

  • Participate and appoint incident investigators amongst the Superintendents as & when required.

  • A member of the Management Review Team & the Shore Emergency Response Team.

  • Organize and assign Superintendents to the yearly internal audits

  • Implement the ISM and ISO requirements and monitor the vessel’s compliance to these codes.

  • To assign superintendents and ensure internal ISM, ISO and ISPS audits are carried out as per audit plan.

  • To ensure external ISM,ISO and ISPS audits are carried out in good time.

  • Monitor and controls the allocated budget for the fleet.

  • Recruitment interviews for Engineering & Deck staffs if required

 

Job Specification Qualifications / Requirement / Criteria

  • Preferably with sailing experience and holding Class 1 COC of Deck, OR

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Logistic Management, OR

  • Sailing experience and holding Class 2 (Deck/ Engine) – Unlimited

  • Proven leadership and people management skills

  • Solution driven approach and proven marine management skills

  • Experience in writing and implementing company procedures

  • Strong Microsoft Office Proficiency
